'The Reckoning,' new single out now!
Los Angeles, CA, July 30, 2021- Warrior guitarist, HYG releases a new single, 'The Reckoning' following the release of his EP, Mother in January of this year. But this time the artist trades in his guitar for a 6 string banjo, or banjitar, and plays it like he stole it!
HYG is a guitarist, lyricist and poet based in Southern California. He discovered the guitar at age 5 and has since become a master of the instrument. He has worked as a music writer for Rondor (Santa Monica, CA) and played the Rock n’ Roll Fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphoma. He’s also recorded in the famous Jungle Room Studio in Glendale CA, and worked with a number of well known and respected artists including Curt Bisquera, Matt Bissonette (Elton John’s bassist), Matt Malley (original bassist, Counting Crows).
The Reckoning, like all of HYG’s work, is very personal. The song tells the story of a toxic relationship with a narcissistic authority figure who remains unnamed.
“The song was intentionally written in an almost playful way to demonstrate the dramatic spiral of emotion over a simple text message...each person [is] facing their own devil,” HYG explains.
'The Reckoning' is available now on all major streaming platforms.
